Job Description
Our client, a Biopharma company based in Dublin with strong development pipeline and multiple blockbuster products, now seeks a Cloud Solutions Architect role at Associate Director level who will work as part of the Clinical Development Systems group.
The successful candidate will lead the development of company’s cloud strategy and architecture for data migration to AWS and associated data warehousing.
In this role, you will lead the clinical data software engineering team and ensure technology decisions align with enterprise standards and strategy. This hire will providing technical guidance to the solutions development team in building secure, reliable and scalable solutions using AWS.
Responsibilities for Cloud Solutions Architect, Associate Director:
Ability to define and drive AWS architecture design
Ability to articulate architecture solution options to leadership
Translate functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture
Provide leadership, training, coaching and guidance to data/software engineers
Ensure technology decisions align with enterprise standards and strategy
Collaborate with IT and other key stakeholders to ensure infrastructure supports continued business growth and initiatives
Diagnose and resolve system and infrastructure problems quickly
Account for both high level and detailed estimates for a proposed cloud solution
Maintain architecture processes and technical documentation
Requirements for Cloud Solutions Architect, Associate Director:
BS degree in computer science or equivalent and relevant industry experience.
In depth understanding of AWS cloud architecture, configuration, and management
Significant years of hands on experience in AWS
Strong experience in data warehousing
Understanding of infrastructure as code and scripting of infrastructure automation (Terraform, Python, PowerShell, etc)
Strong understanding of AWS authentication and authorization frameworks, cloud-based access, and data encryption
Experience with containerization platforms such as Kubernetes, Docker as well as serverless architecture
Experience working in a regulated industry is preferred.
Exceptional customer service skills
Effective communication skills via verbal, written and presentation abilities.
Ability to influence and negotiate.
