EHS Manager:

My client a leading Multinational Pharmaceutical company now require an EHS Manager to join their expanding team.

The EHS Manager will operations are carried out at all times in compliance with relevant Health & Safety and Environmental Legislation. This includes company EHS policies, procedures and regulations and any other standards to which my client subscribes.

This is a permanent role based in Dublin.

EHS Manager

Participate in site EHS activities and ensure that site operations comply with legislation and best practice.
Actively foster an ethos and culture of safety awareness, where safety is accepted as an integral part of the overall business.
Work with all site personnel, contractors and visitors to ensure that all safety policies, procedures and regulations are fully adhered to across the site on an ongoing basis.
Provide leadership to all site personnel in respect of EHS management and compliance.
Develop and champion all KPI's that impact EHS.
Drive EHS continuous improvement initiatives.
Liaise and communicate with Global EHS function to ensure corporate policies and initiatives are implemented.
Ensure that EHS audit action items are addressed and closed out in a timely manner.
Overall management of the EHS incident reporting and investigation system on site.
Develop and provide EHS training as required. Implement training programs and maintain up to date training records for all EHS personnel.
Ensure information databases are kept up to date and reports are submitted in a timely manner to the EPA, Irish Water, SDCC and other regulatory authorities in accordance with IEL requirements.
Ensure the Energy Management System (ISO50001) is fully supported and initiatives taken to reduce energy consumption across site.
Oversee the management of the Waste Water Treatment Plant and waste operations on site.
Support the Technology Transfer initiatives for incoming new products. This requires good communication and close cooperation with key Technology Transfer personnel from other departments.
Maintain effective stock control of EHS consumables.
Manage the EHS department operating and capital budget within agreed targets and contribute to the annual preparation of these budgets.
Ensure all site personnel, contractors and visitors are trained to safely and effectively carry out their roles on site.
Support and maintain effective document control systems for the EHS Department.
Work closely with OH and HR Departments to ensure employee well-being is considered at all times.
Provide regular reports on the activities of the EHS group to the Engineering Director.
Actively encourage the culture of teamwork and integration within the Engineering Department, and with all other Departments.

Requirements of EHS Manager:

3rd level Occupational Health and Safety or Environmental Management qualification, or equivalent, required.
Knowledge of EHS practices and legislation for a pharmaceutical / biopharmaceutical facility operating within Ireland/Europe.
5+ years EHS management experience within a pharmaceutical / biopharmaceutical facility.
Good knowledge of API pharmaceutical production, packaging processes and biopharmaceutical manufacturing desirable.
