Medical Manager, Rare Diseases
Our client, a highly ambitious and fast growing healthcare company, now seek an experienced Medical Science / Clinical Research Specialist for their Medical Manager role with specific focus on Rare Diseases.

Key remit: identify, develop relationships with national investigators and KOLs to provide them with up to date scientific information and support for presentations and articles - with the aim of creating collaborative research opportunities between the company and clinical groups throughout Ireland.

This is a permanent role, based in Dublin and will require occasional travel (majority nationally, with a little internationally). This is very much a customer facing role.

Responsibilities of Medical Manager:
Identify and profile KOLs working in Rare Diseases, including mapping, understanding their areas of expertise and methods of operations and understanding their network of influence.
Develop and maintain long-term collaborative relationships with identified KOLs and their immediate networks.
Engage in discussions with KOLs to gain buy-in and agreement for study participation.
Lead the formulation of clinical research agreements ensuring appropriate and timely input from Legal, Finance, Scientific Liaison etc.
Ensure successful conclusion to contract negotiations with Principal Investigators (PIs).
Liaise with Clinical Operations and Project Management in support of timely site start up for the execution of each study including accurate forecast of relevant timelines.
Attend national and international meetings and conferences as required to update medical/scientific knowledge and network with KOLs and key industry stakeholders
Contribute to the development of strategic initiatives and specified Business Development activities.
Prepare pipeline activity and other reports for leadership as required.

Requirements for Medical Manager:
Bachelor's Degree in Science, Pharmacy. Advanced qualification is preferred. MBA desirable.
5+ years plus experience in an industry, academic or other role in Rare Diseases.
Good scientific background with a technical understanding of disease areas
Skilled networker and ability to identify and engage with key stakeholders and influencers.
Experience liaising with clinicians and researchers, including health environment in Ireland.
A broad understanding of clinical research process, i.e. clinical trials, their design and implementation.
Ability to negotiate and reach agreement in a timely and effective manner.
Strong operational and project management skills.
Business planning, forecasting and analytical capabilities.
Excellent communication skills.
