Job Description
Our client, a med tech development company, now seek a highly motivated Bioprocess Engineer for the development and commercialization of new innovative platform technology for the biotech industry. This is a permanent role based in the greater Dublin area.
Ideally, this hire will have a proven track record of bioprocess engineering experience for recombinant protein production in biotech industry. This role requires extensive know-how and practical experience in working with equipment in bioprocessing and cell engineering, including platform technologies.
Ability to assess biotech market, adapting to customer needs while possessing the practical know how to deliver final product. Experience in liaison with quality and regularity resources is of key importance.
Responsibilities of Principal Bioprocess Engineer, NPD:
Developing of new platform technology for the biotech industry.
Developing and overseeing scale up technology from lab development to pilot scale, to large scale manufacture (GMP).
Provide process science and technology expertise to support equipment and disposables design.
Write up process validation summary reports and associated Regulatory filing summaries.
Generate documentation and SOPs associated with process, equipment and automation systems.
Improving and implementing efficiencies for production processes.
Work with scientists to coordinate experimental design and execution.
Design, implement, and troubleshoot experiments, both independently and in collaboration with colleagues, to reach desired goals.
Implementation of workflow and sample tracking.
Continually seek out new technologies to enhance throughput and aid in workflow optimisation.
Ensure all documentation is compliant with the medical industry and regulatory bodies, GMP procedures, and health and safety procedures.
Setting up collaborative links both in industry and academy.
Examine new technology trends.
Requirements for Principal Bioprocess Engineer, NPD:
Bachelor of Engineering or Science in bioprocessing, bioengineering, biotechnology or chemical engineering. MSc, MEng or PhD is preferred.
A number of years of working experience in biopharma GMP manufacturing environment.
Strong background in mammalian cell culture and/or purification process unit operations and aware of the potential impact of equipment on biological molecules.
Knowledge and experience in biotechnology technology transfer, bioprocess equipment design and single use systems preferred.
Ability to independently plan and perform work assignments, interpret and present data.
Introduction of new technology, including process analytical technology (PAT).
Experience of process and cleaning validation execution.
Support process equipment design, including development of user requirements and specification documentation.
Demonstrated aptitude for technical learning and problem solving.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work independently.
Familiar with automated control systems.
