Procurement Specialist, Global Commodities role
Our client, a global healthcare manufacturing company based in Galway now wish to expand their Strategic Procurement group with an additional Lead role which will operate as part of a global team.

The successful candidate is required to develop / lead the implementation of sourcing strategies for all items or services within an assigned category to achieve annual productivity improvement while maintaining or improving service levels for our client based in Cork.

Responsibilities of Procurement Specialist:
Negotiating competitive cost with suppliers.
Develop and execute measurement tools to accurately gauge supplier performance.
Project managing; assignments, NPIs and Supplier selection, negotiation, contract review, etc.
Manage and develop suppliers to achieve on-going productivity achievements.
Achieve spend productivity targets at assigned location within specific category.
Measure and track supplier performance.
Establishing correct Vendor data on SAP; Assess Vendor risks and advice on Stock holding policy and lead time.
Transitioning to new Vendors as per Corporate Purchasing Plan: Actions as above; Manage any new validations required as part of the transition.
Lead the Yearly Standard Cost Setting as part of the Budgeting process.
Deal directly with Vendors on mid to long term supply issues / relationship issues.

Requirements of Procurement Specialist:
Honours Bachelor of Business Studies, Engineering, Science or similar.
APICS certification an advantage.
4+ years direct procurement experience in a commodity / manufacturing environment.
Project Management experience is require, plus experience in Dealing with Third Party Vendors on commercial activities.
Strong analytical skills to make quantitative projections/recommendations.
Experienced in using MRP systems with SAP experience preferred.
