Job Description
We now seeks an experienced Spotfire Developer at principal / management level, who will be responsible for the overall delivery of Spotfire visualizations and capabilities within Pharmaceutical / Drug Development (industry experience desirable).
The successful hire will be a leader in the overall design and scope of the capability which includes re-using existing processes within Data Analytics, while also introducing techniques that would be more applicable to Spotfire. This role will report into the Data Analytics team.
This role will also need to work closely with IT’s Information Management and Business Intelligence teams. The position will have the opportunity to work in a matrix environment and regularly collaborate with Senior Management and cross functional teams.
Ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in BI application and data integration technologies and comfortable working in a fast-paced organization with rapidly growing business needs. Candidate must be organized and analytical, adept at working in a team environment, able to design and implement a project schedule, and able to handle multiple priorities.
Responsibilities for Spotfire Developer:
Develop Spotfire development processes that fit with the current Data Analytics processes at company.
Mentor and train other members of Data Analytics on Spotfire.
Build a training plan and curriculum.
Engage with Customers to help them design visualizations that answer business questions.
Gently instruct while firmly guiding Customers to design outputs that drive answers.
Educate Customers to the features of Spotfire that would be of benefit.
Produce detailed design documents to match business requirements.
Review any Spotfire systems-related requirements.
Collaborate with members in Systems, Data Analytics, Project Management, IT, QA, etc. to update the Spotfire environment.
Stay up-to-date with current best practice and 3rd Party solution alternatives and educate Colleagues and Customers.
Work closely with different functional areas and project teams to identify and document reporting / Data interface requirements.
Collaborate within IT to understand the data sources necessary to implement the planning and reporting applications interfaces requirements.
Help drive testing activities to ensure accuracy and validity of data and reports across all boundary applications.
Participate in cross-functional discussions and presentations.
Lead training material design, documentation and delivery efforts.
Partner effectively with IT Teams to deliver benefit to Development group.
Requirements for Spotfire Developer:
BSc. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent preferred.
Advanced experience with Spotfire, including relevant experience working as a Spotfire Developer.
Solid knowledge of data integration best practices , including validation and qualification of applications is preferred.
Pharma experience is preferred, especially working with R&D / Clinical Development and Operations functions.
Ability to understand the business requirements and converting them into solution designs.
Knowledge in web-based systems architecture, service-based architecture, enterprise application architecture as well as experience managing expectations when balancing alternatives against business and financial constraints.
Proven ability in delivering software that balances architecture activities across company needs, business constraints and technological realities.
Should have participated in, and be familiar with, Agile (Scrum) project methodology and practices.
SME in current and future technology architecture, including the inter-operability of technologies, within their area of expertise.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with proven experience in requirements gathering, process mapping and design, system documentation.
Provides guidance and training to other IT colleagues in their area of expertise.
Strong presentation and communication skills.
