Job Description
Required to project manage supplier of finished products through contract manufacturers, which includes; design and develop manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems to meet manufacturing delivery goals while reducing cost and ensuring product quality, for our client based in Galway.
The successful candidate will manage projects which include new production equipment, process improvements, and cost reductions while supporting day to day operations success of assigned key supplier / contract manufacturers.
Successfully contributes to both new product development and current product support, typically including the following activities: process capability studies, process development, Six Sigma and Value Engineering.
This is a technical engineering role, with the hire becoming an SME in Materials Engineering exercising strong communication skills with vendors and significant project management abilities, both internally and externally.
The main purposes of this role is to lead both new product development and current product support, typically including the following activities: process capability studies, process development, Six Sigma and continuous improvement projects, report preparation and process/test documentation.
Requirements for Supplier Manufacturing Project Manager:
Honours Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering.
5+ years relevant work experience in similar role with track record in development of new supply sources.
Strong Project Management skills to manage Supplier and Material changes.
Material Science or Material Engineering background is advantageous.
Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification is desired.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Travel requirements – during working week / weekdays.
