Job Description
Our client, a medical devices manufacturer based in Galway / Athlone location, now seeks an experienced candidate who is responsible for Supply Chain activities on site, including supervision of supply chain staff.
The successful candidate will be tasked with establishing, implementing and maintaining an effective forecasting, planning, scheduling and Inventory Management system.
Responsibilities of Supply Chain Specialist:
Establishes an effective inventory management system on site.
Creates an efficient and appropriate planning, scheduling and delivery process for R&D related product builds.
Establishes and manages an effective forecasting process with all customers across all products.
Ensures a robust supply chain process exists from customer receipt through to order delivery. Ensures that all product demand plans are properly scheduled through the MRP system.
Works in partnership with Purchasing, Warehousing and Production staff to ensure that all customer requirements are properly planned, scheduled and delivered on time.
Becomes the in house expert on the Supply Chain platforms and system and maximizes its usage to the benefit of all aspects of the business.
Partners with on site and corporate IT staff to ensure business unit requirements and supply chain systems capability are in sync.
Requirements for Supply Chain Specialist:
Bachelor?s Degree in Engineering, Business or equivalent Degree in a technical discipline.
Ideally additional qualification in APICS or CSCP.
4+ years? experience in a progressive supply chain environment, 2 years of which in a scheduling & planning role.
Highly competent in capacity planning and master scheduling in a high volume manufacturing environment
Strong systems expertise (ideally SAP), with experience in MRP, ERP and MPS programs.
Strong understanding of supply chain methodologies.
Strong communication and presentation skills, particularly with internal and external customers.
A self-starter applies his/her own initiative in most situations.
