Bioprocess Engineer, Cork
required for an operational support role, leading and conducting day-to-day bioprocess engineering support to upstream / downstream manufacturing operations.
The successful candidate will be experienced in working in steady state on; process optimisations, NPIs, tech transfers, etc. and being the engineering representative on a process team running a bio-pharma production campaign etc.
Responsibilities of Bioprocess Engineer:
Facilitate the introduction of new products with associated new unit operations and equipment and ensure the bio-processing at the site stays current with emerging processing and equipment innovations.
Develop and predict processing strategies and throughputs for the various products for the site biotech business through the use of modelling tools.
Initiate and implement facility and equipment upgrades to improve plant productivity and throughput.
Requirements of Bioprocess Engineer:
Bachelor's degree in Biochemical/Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
Proven operations experience in knowledge of upstream and downstream biopharmaceutical unit operations, manufacturing processes, bioreactor design and control, SIP/CIP, filtration, chromatography techniques etc.
Experience in either process engineering support of a mammalian cell-based biopharmaceutical manufacturing plant.
Deep technical interest and understanding in the field of Biochemical/Chemical Engineering.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to work on own initiative and as part process team
