Our client, a large multinational company, now see Logistics Planner to plan and coordinate product distribution activities for all inbound and outbound movements across the site.
The successful candidate will optimise movement within the extended supply chain; ensuring the timely transport of finished goods and component items between warehouses, domestic customers and the port in the most safe and cost effective manner whilst ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities of Logistics Planner:
Create the weekly loading plan by day, by hour, by bay for the site.
Work closely with production planners to optimise loading and improve customer service.
Act as the key link between the International Customer Relationship Team / Operations / Warehousing /3rd Party operations / Carriers to optimise efficiencies in scheduling and loading of despatches from Warehouses.
Regular liaison with Operations to determine shortages / excess of supplies
Provide up to date and accurate information to all stakeholders regarding product availability to meet orders.
Maintain distribution records and monitor pending shipments in line with requirements.
Reduce distribution freight costs by optimising consignment shipments.
Identify and reduce obsolescence and wastage through efficient planning.
Coordinate with service providers to ensure timely processing of orders.
Analyse and resolve any delivery issues in a timely fashion.
Review current distribution practices and procedures, identify improvements and support implementation of same.
Identify and suggest cost reduction initiatives while maintaining productivity.
Improve H&S transport activities by smoothing loadings.
Develop continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, productivity and customer services.
Coordinate with Manager to meet and exceed customer demands.
Assist in site transportation risk assessments.
Provide assistance to warehouse, materials, and planning teams as required.
Requirements for Lean Quality Manager:
Third Level Qualification in related Supply Chain/Logistics/Business discipline.
Strong coordination and planning experience in a similar distribution planning role, preferably within FMCG sector.
In-depth knowledge of supply chain/logistics process and best practice.
In-depth understanding of relevant Health and Safety standards and procedures.
Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
Good planning and organizational skills, pro-active with a flexible and can-do attitude.
Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
Good decision-making ability and initiative.
Adaptable and flexible to adjust to change.
IT literate with proven experience in MS Office, SAP and ERP systems.
Results-orientated to meet customer needs in a fast-paced environment.
