Our client, a world class manufacturer based in Cork, now seeks a Production Planner / Buyer end to work as part of the end supply chain team, in the delivery of new products into the business and working with a global supply base on delivery of excellence.
The successful hire will part-take in supply chain planning and purchasing models, driving high performance across key Supply Chain Metrics i.e. KPIs. Strive for high performance across key Supply Chain Metrics and KPIs.
This hire will become a leader in Sales Inventory & Operations Planning cycle with responsibility for global divisional collaboration to drive strategic investment decisions.
Primary responsibilities include continuous improvement and streamlining of current and new business processes.
This is a 12-month fixed term contract role; with the view this role will go permanent.
Responsibilities of Planner / Buyer:
Develop / lead the implementation of site planning and purchasing activities to support an agile end to end supply chain that contributes to best in class supply chain performance for the company network.
Lead the local Sales Inventory & Operations Planning process for individual business units, and co-ordinates primary decision making relating to capacity and supply.
Utilise and leverage end to end supply chain planning platforms to ensure data based decision making for key business investment decisions.
Maintain a comprehensive purchasing system and support tactical purchasing requirements for a cross section of raw materials.
Engage with suppliers on various inventory and delivery management programs to maintain a balanced supply to operations.
Drive a continuous improvement focus relating to Material Requirements Planning and supplier engagement.
Participates in cross-functional teams to support global supplier evaluation and selection.
Provide supply chain SME guidance on NPD and Integration activity to ensure goals and KPIs are achieved.
Interface and partner with core functions such as operations, quality, engineering, and process development to support new product integration and drive operation excellence in day to day business.
Requirements for Planner Buyer:
Honours Degree in Business, Science, Engineering or similar.
APICS certification is desirable.
3 years proven experience in Planner / Buyer role within manufacturing industry.
Working knowledge of SAP, competent in Microsoft PC Applications i.e. Excel.
Excellent Planning and Analytical skills.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
