The Principal Material Scientist is a key role in the pharmaceutical development group
The role reports directly into the head of the pharmaceutical development. The role is responsible for the material characterisation lab with state of the art equipment such as thermos-analytical and surface characterisation techniques. The role has direct report responsibility.
Act as lead technical specialist in material characterisation in accordance with project milestones
Manage external and internal suppliers to deliver consistent quality of raw materials facilitating resolution of technical issues as required.
Lead development and validation of material characterisation methods as well as technical transfers.
Evaluate new physicochemical techniques and equipment applying innovation to solve technical problems.
Structure work to ensure technical goals are achieved and challenges are addressed promptly.
Participate in cross functional teams to further material science expertise and learnings.
Build high performing team in material science.
Write and review high quality submission documents and reports
PhD/Masters in Science discipline, with 5 - 10 years relevant experience in an R&D environment either in academia or the pharmaceutical industry.
Excellent communication skills
Strong capability to organise workload based on conflicting project requirements
Strong in problem solving skills to support investigations in R&D and commercial
Strong leadership skills to manage internal and external teams
Working knowledge of statistics/mathematics required
