R&D Engineer
Our client, a medical device company, now seeks an R&D Engineer for their development group who will provide mechanical engineering support in the creation and the development of new medical device products (invasive and non-invasive).
The successful candidate will undertakes and successfully complete complex product development tasks including: writing and/or verifying specifications, design verifications and design validations; maintaining product/process documentation; developing test methods.
Responsibilities of R&D Engineer:
Researches, develops, designs, and evaluates mechanical and electro-mechanical materials, components, assemblies, processes and/or equipment.
Conducts feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality.
Develops new concepts from initial design to market release.
Directs support personnel and coordinates project activities.
Write and submit intellectual property (patents).
Maintains detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development.
Investigates and evaluates existing technologies.
Reviews or coordinates vendor activities to support development.
interface with Design, Quality and Manufacturing organizations to integrate new products or processes into production.
Designs, procures, and fabricates simple tooling and fixtures and develops new ideas and technologies within an assigned product area.
Interfaces with Marketing, Operations, Quality Assurance, vendors and physicians.
Requirements for R&D Engineer:
Primary Degree in Mechanical, Polymers, Chemical, Materials or Biomedical Engineering.
2+ years? experience in the health care industry in a development role.
Ideally 1 year experience working with Design Dossiers, Technical Files, and Product
Specifications, Design FMEAs, Design Verification Protocols.
Strong technical capabilities and be capable of handling the development aspect of assigned projects.
