required to design and co-ordination of packaging activities for New Products, which includes product package design, product labels, Direction for use, packaging specifications.
The remit of this role is the development and analysis of products, materials, processes, or equipment related to packaging across the plant.
Responsibilities for R&D Packaging Engineer:
Compiles, analyzes and reports operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified products, processes, or materials.
Creation, change and control of all labeling and packaging components to support R&D in the plant.
Ensure all labeling and packaging components meet performance and FDA standards, including cGMP and all Country specific requirements.
Liaise with vendors on specifications for package and label components.
Communicate to Teams and Management on the progress of Labeling and packaging projects.
Liaise with Sister divisions to ensure a consistent approach to labeling and packaging.
Liaise with various translation companies for the translation of text used in all labelling and packaging components.
Comprehensive understanding of Packaging & Labelling Design Element requirements within a regulated industry.
Requirements for R&D Packaging Engineer:
Honours Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Quality Assurance or packaging technology.
3+ years' experience in similar role within FDA regulated environment, preferably with packaging / labeling standards.
Experience in package design, particularly thermoform trays barrier bags, corrugated and cartons.
Experience with ASTM 4169/ISTA testing preferred Familiar with sterile packaging materials.
Ideally candidates will be experience in either of the following EN ISO 11607-01/-02, BS EN 980, ISO9001 / EN46001, MDD, cGMP regulations.
