Senior Production Planning Coordinator

Our client, a healthcare manufacturer based in Galway, currently seek a Senior Production Planning Coordinator who will be the primary point of contact with production accountability for the efficient and effective running of a particular shift, line or project in GMP environment.
This hire will work closely with the Business Unit Manager to support the management and development of the production supervisors, while leading detailed project planning activities (bill plan, headcount, budgeting etc.) in support of major projects, i.e. product / process transfer etc. for global supply chain.
The successful candidate will exercise strong leadership and project management skills, in identifying and driving continuous improvements, using Lean tools and techniques in production area in order to meet and exceed all key performance metrics.
Responsibilities for Senior Production Planning Coordinator:
Lead decision making at Business Unit level and drive accountability across large groups.
Manage and develop direct reports to achieve business goals and objectives.
Delivery of all key performance metrics on particular shift/project.
Provides strong, capable leadership and clear direction to all team members, including all support functions.
Liaison with quality and engineering both internal to the plant and externally within the corporation.
Advanced knowledge of and demonstrated competence in Lean tools and principles and their successful deployment to consistently meet Lean Manufacturing goals.
Demonstrated experience in driving a compliance culture across teams.
Demonstrated excellence in GMP / FDA regulatory requirements, housekeeping, health and safety.
Requirements for Senior Production Planning Coordinator:
Bachelor’s Degree HETAC Level 8 in Science, Engineering or similar discipline.
5+ years production planning experience, managing weekly monthly and long-term production plans, in order to meet global supply chain / customer demands.
3+ years supervisory / line-management experience is required, organising and team building experience in a medical/pharma environment a distinct advantage.
Proficient with Excel and ERP / MRP systems, ideally SAP.
Good technical capabilities, communication skills, teamwork abilities and initiative.
Proven ability to work well as part of a team & on own with minimum supervision.
