Drug Development, Project Lead – Dublin Pharma


This newly created permanent based role is an extraordinary exciting opportunity for a technically strong, bright, ambitious drug development scientist. Our client is a young, exciting, fast-growing Dublin based pharma company. With a management team who possesses a long history of outstanding business success, this organisation is poised for rapid growth and expansion across its global markets.

Job Spec 

The successful candidate will lead development projects at external vendors with a focus on formulation and process development to ensure successful completion of the project deliverables. As our client is a young dynamic company, the candidate will be expected to compile timelines, manage project budgets, complete prior knowledge reports, help with regulatory filings and patents etc. Working for our young client will give the successful candidate a wide range of hands on experience in CMC, regulatory, IP and clinical that they are unlikely to obtain at a large pharmaceutical company.


Essential Functions


Manage assigned projects and teams in coordination with the Director of Drug development.
Manage formulation & process development, scale up and testing of pharmaceutical dosage forms at third party manufacturers.
Support the drafting of regulatory CMC documentation such as pharmaceutical development reports.
Develop and track goals, project plans, timelines and budgets.
Facilitate issue resolution in a timely manner
Manage budget processes for assigned projects including detailed reporting
Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of project deliverables and milestones
Create and maintain consistent project documentation
Drive action item follow-up

Person Spec 


The preferred candidate will have a strong relevant academic profile along with two years proven track record in project management within drug development and/or a background in formulation & process development. Additional experience in project managing medical device development a distinct advantage
Alternately they will be qualified to Ph.D level ( ideally in pharmaceutics) and will possess strong insight into drug formulation and development. 
Ability to exercise initiative and creativity in resolving project management related issues
Experience managing project/program budgets
Ability to manage project work plans, documentation and action item follow-up
Ability to perform in a fast-paced, fast growing environment with competing priorities under tight deadlines
Strong and proactive team player with good interpersonal skills
Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with MS Office (e.g. Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
