Ireland leading on remote work jobs - LinkedIn survey

Ireland has been ranked highest across Europe for the availability of remote jobs, according to new research from LinkedIn.
The data shows that in Ireland 9.4% of all job postings offering remote work options - almost double the European average of 5.2%.
Ireland has the second highest availability of hybrid roles in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) according to the most recent LinkedIn data from June 2025.
36.3% of all advertised roles in Ireland offer flexible arrangements, this is more than five percentage points above the European average of 31.3%.
According to the research, there are currently 3.4 jobs available for every 10 job seekers in Ireland, making it the third tightest labour market in Europe behind Germany and the Netherlands.
The data has also revealed a "remote work mismatch" ratio of 2.1, meaning that for every remote job posting, there are more than twice as many applications compared to traditional roles.
"This pattern reflects the sustained appetite for flexible working arrangements among Irish job seekers, even as the economy has fully reopened post-pandemic," LinkedIn said.
The research looks at the changes in the hiring rate between this month and the same month in the previous year.
The data is based on LinkedIn members' profile updates using the start date of a new job.
