This permanent based newly created role offers a rare opportunity to join a young, exciting science driven pharmaceutical company.

Our client is a fast growing highly profitable multinational biopharmaceutical company with an exciting pipeline of drug compounds at an advanced stage in research,. The company has a newly created vacancy for an experienced Accountant.


Essential Responsibilities of Accountant

? Financial Close
o Create/update accrual models and prepare monthly actual vs. plan variance analysis for Sales, Marketing & Medical Affairs departments.
o Assist in the monthly close of Accounts Receivable, Revenue and Reserves, Inventory and COGS
o Coordinate and be a liaison with various third parties (i.e. SPS, ValueCentric) and verify accuracy of third party data.
o Ensure compliance with SOX 404 key controls for Accounts Receivable, Inventory, and COGS related cycles.
o Provide PBC requests from external auditors and other third parties as needed.
o Assist in the preparation of monthly dashboard reports to functional heads including executive summary.
o Assist with various ad-hoc commercial acctg/finance projects (i.e. variance explanations, data validation, breakeven analysis, returns analysis, margin analysis, etc.).
o Assist with collaboration revenue to ensure timely billings to collaboration partners.

? Business Partnering
o Assist in routine meetings with functional heads to develop understanding of key activities and drivers of expense.
o Assist in the collaboration with department heads to align financial plan and corporate goals.
o Partnering with Procurement, AP and Accounting to facilitate communication and problem resolution with operations.

? Systems Support
o Update and maintain expense and FTE records in TM1 (budgeting and reporting application) for Sales, Marketing & Medical Affairs departments.
o Provide relevant business input to optimize monthly reporting package.

? Compliance
o Assist with the preparation and audit of the annual statutory financials under IFRS.
o Preparation and timely filing of VAT and VIES returns.
o Preparation of analysis for tax planning strategies.

Person Spec

The preferred candidate will be a Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), with a number of years PQE experience who possesses knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP. You will possess superior Microsoft Excel skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX is a plus.
Requires a proactive approach and excellent written/oral communication.
You will have strong interpersonal skills required to interact with clients, management, and peers effectively. Effective cross-department communication. The ability to contribute to a young team environment with a high degree of professionalism and skill. Demonstrated flexibility within a dynamic, fast-paced, cross-functional team. Demonstrated ability to complete multiple tasks concurrently and deliver results in a challenging environment Ability to work under stringent deadlines.
