Associate Director Engineering, Manufacturing & NPI
Our client, a world class engineering company based in Galway, now seeks a suitably experienced Associate Director Engineering to provide effective leadership across the site, driving strategic programmes for cutting edge technology in Medtech industry and developing a high performing engineering team in this regulated environment.

The scope of this role is wide and varied across engineering areas with this hire providing leadership on infrastructure, materials, capital, equipment, layouts, operational excellence, staffing and execution to plant metrics and customer requirements. The successful candidate will have responsibility for engineering budget for the plant and site wide developmental projects/programs for operations.

Overall engineering responsibility in supporting operations, managing the transition of products from New Product Development to Operations, including the subsequent scale up & validation of new products to commercial manufacture, to achieve successful regulatory approval & launch to market.

The company has a number of incredibly new innovative products coming through development hence it is preferable candidates will have strong experience in developing new technologies and equipment automation solutions, with associated validations.

The ideal candidate will have significant leadership experience, providing strategic oversight and engineering staff developmental experience in a similar role / function, with broad scope of engineering responsibility and technical expertise with world class technology.

Requirements for Associate Director Engineering, Manufacturing & NPI:
Honours Bachelors Engineering Degree, in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Process, etc.
Additional Postgraduate Master’s in Engineering or Business is highly desirable.
Project management certification is preferred.
10 plus years' experience in a similar engineering role, in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
3 years of which in engineering leadership experience, with track record in people development.
Proven experience in the development and implementation of strategy for Engineering, Technical Services or New Product Development function.
Proven project management, cost control / budgetary experience.
Experience in Polymer Processing, Polymer Manufacturing, Injection Moulding or similar technologies is preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with good leadership abilities.
Commercial and business experience is ideal.
