Director, Commercial Supply Chain

The Director of Commercial Supply supports the SVP of Commercial Supply Chain in the development and execution of the corporate strategy for Commercial Supply Chain including evaluations of new CMOs, technologies, developing master production plans and budgets.

The position leads efforts in CMOs selection, qualification, roll outs and process improvements while technically supporting various 3rd Party manufacturers, including distribution. This position develops technical papers, analyze and identify improvement opportunities in current and future manufacturing processes. Present research to all levels of management including the board of directors. Supports ERP improvements, conceptualize and engineer solutions for process streamlining. This position is responsible for developing, managing and presenting KPIs as well as Sales and Operations periodic reviews.


Manages network of third-party suppliers, ensuring on-time delivery of all raw materials and finished goods.
Develops annual production plans, forecasts, and Supply budget to comply with Board Approved Plan.
Manages supplier relations and ensures compliance with Supply Agreements.
Evaluates capacity requirements, manufacturing technology platforms and process changes for current and potential drug substance, drug product, and packaging CMOs. Supports sNDA approval process.
Leads commercial launch for additional SKUs as required by US and Ex-US markets.
Oversees ERP System (Oracle) for inventory management and purchasing.
Manages periodic inventory reporting for financial reporting.
Develops, implements, and maintains KPI reports and Inventory Dashboard.
Oversees domestic and international transfer of clinical and commercial supplies.
Manages periodic cross-functional Sales and Operations review meetings
Provides input into strategic review of corporate commercial supply chain

Person Spec

Minimum of BS degree in chemical engineering or related industries. Additional applied knowledge of organic chemistry, operations management or related scientific discipline desired. APICS or CPIM certification preferred (or equivalent)

Minimum 7 years of engineering or Operations experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Excellent organizational, analytical and negotiation skills. Ability to make decisions independently as well as with a team. Must have ability to interact and work well with others and manage non-reporting resources. Must be an independent and critical thinker. Well-developed electronic and oral presentation skills. Must demonstrate applied knowledge of various manufacturing technologies, corporate finance and ability to develop business cases, as necessary. Must possess a working knowledge of US FDA and EU EMA regulatory approval process.
Power user in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Must be an expert in ERP methodology (software brand agnostic)
