Equipment Engineering Lead
Our client, a world class Medical Devices manufacturer based in Galway, seeks an Equipment Engineering Lead who will lead the coordination of equipment build and upgrades in support of plant priorities to deliver equipment into manufacturing, within the Engineering Center of Excellence.

This represents an attractive opportunity for an experienced Equipment Engineering Manager, who wishes to advance their career into R&D with an innovative Engineering group, working with cutting edge technology in Medtech. The successful candidate will assist R&D and Operations on New Product Development Programs and Sustaining Programs by participating on the Design, Build, Commissioning and Qualification of New Equipment as well as Equipment Upgrades in the expanding Equipment Engineering group.

Responsibilities of Equipment Engineering Lead:
Coordinate the Mechanical and Electrical assembly of new and repeat build production Equipment for company, locally and internationally.
Oversee the Mechanical and Electrical upgrades to production equipment in Galway.
Provide technical leadership on equipment build issues/ potential improvement.
Scope and quote work associated with the mechanical and electrical build of equipment
Coordinate daily activities of mechanical and electrical build technicians and assist in issue resolution.
Liaising with engineers and project managers in the equipment engineering group on various projects.
Forecasting and resourcing with Engineering Build group to ensure the business is adequately supported
Liaising with Inventory Control group to achieve build start dates
Work closely with engineering teams to ensure that the equipment is built according to specifications and is appropriately handed over to manufacturing.
Ensure equipment solutions are delivered within planned schedules and budget.
Responsible for equipment build verification before equipment handover.
Liaising with electrical commissioning group to ensure equipment meets CE marking standards.
Support software, controls, customers, and others during project commissioning and testing phases.
Chair and drive standard meetings such as build reviews, stand-ups, and continuous improvement workshops

Requirements for Equipment Engineering Lead:
Bachelors Degree level 8 in Engineering, preferably in an electrical discipline.
5+ years’ experience in a technical engineering role involving mechanical and electrical engineering, in the development of automated plant or equipment fabrication.
2+ years of people supervision experience in engineering environment, planning and coordinating projects, resource allocation, managing progress to agreed timelines and build plan.
Experience in Workshop Equipment, and Machine Building will be essential.
