Global Category Manager, Pharma
Our client, a blue-chip multinational pharma company, now seeks a Category Manager who will operate as part of the global team responsible for procurement of externally manufactured pharmaceutical ingredients.
The successful candidate will develop and implement strategic sourcing solutions for this particular category and assigned spend / budget. Ability to operate and influence high levels of the organization, both with internal stakeholders as well as external suppliers is required.
Responsibilities for Global Category Manager, Pharma:
Own the Business Partner and Strategy Commercial Portfolio of assigned suppliers leveraging opportunities across divisions, functions, products, and global geographies.
Implementing high level sourcing strategies appropriate to the commercial product lifecycle utilizing a Strategic Category Management approach, developing, presenting, and executing endorsed strategies.
Implement high value sourcing strategies for phases of the product lifecycle, including launch, commercial and mature product requirements.
Developing and implementing effective global cross-divisional category strategies that are both aligned and integrated to support business needs.
Leading Strategic Sourcing and Category Management processes that are efficient and effective at extracting value, includes; selection and negotiation of contracts with particular suppliers.
Managing supplier relationships and conducting regular business reviews in partnership with Manufacturing and other strategic stakeholders.
Implement sourcing roadmaps and initiatives, contributing to strong supplier relationships and creating business opportunity analysis inclusive of strategic/new technologies and/or partnership opportunities.
Work with key stakeholders and suppliers to identify continuous improvement / productivity opportunities, develop and present business cases, and coordinate implementation.
Key Stakeholder Management ensuring alignment, expectations and deliverables on tactical, operational, and strategic levels throughout the organisation.
Requirements for Global Category Manager:
Bachelor?s degree in Science, Engineering or Business and a minimum of 6 years strategic sourcing and procurement experience.
Ideally some experience in the pharma industry.
Purchasing and/or Supply Management qualification an advantage (e.g. APICS CSCP, ISM CPSM).
Experienced in successfully managing projects and resources, and proven track record in supplier implementation.
Experience leading cross-functional, cross-geography teams to achieve business objectives.
Experience with Certification in Lean Six Sigma.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP) is an advantage.
Advanced Excel skills, MS Office suites.
