Our client, a Medtech company based in Galway, now seeks an experienced Production Planning Manager to work in a fast paced dynamic manufacturing environment, provide input to senior management from Global Production Planning perspective. This is a permanent role.
The successful candidate will be Leads and co-ordinates the Finished Goods Production Planning, Master Schedule and Inventory Management activity across manufacturing sites. This hire will, be the primary interface with Global Supply Chain, New Product Development PM, Clinical and Finance for confirming global build volumes and inventory levels during budgeting and re-forecasting processes.
Additionally this hire will work across intercompany network by incorporating appropriate actions within the build plan cycles, coordinating across multiple sites as required, aligning within cycle schedules in the event of material shortages, backlogs or schedule interruptions.
Responsibilities of Global Production Planning Manager:
Centrally leads and co-ordinates the Production Build Plan and Master Schedule on a monthly basis across manufacturing sites to satisfy overall demand requirements, optimise inventory levels and minimise material obsolescence.
Co-ordinates the weekly global schedule adherence performance and communicates, escalates and supports as appropriate.
Establishes controls, systems and tools to maintain the necessary inventory flow for sister-site & 3rd party components availability.
Confirms the Build Volume and appropriate Inventory levels for the product sites for the AOP and re-forecasting processes.
Communicates product Build Plan schedules, Inventory forecasts and Key Risks/Opportunities to all key stakeholders globally across multiple sites.
Follows-up on key actions arising from Risks/Opportunities during each Build Plan cycle, delegating and driving accountability to the right level.
Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Requirements of Global Production Planning Manager:
Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering, Business or similar. APICS certification desirable.
7+ year’s relevant experience in a materials planning / production planning environment.
3+ year’s management experience ideally within Production Planning / Scheduling / Supply Chain function.
Proven experience of MRP systems, SAP experience is highly desired.
Proficient user in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint with strong working knowledge of MS Word.
Excellent analytical, problem solving & communication skills.
Proven manufacturing experience needed to manage production planning process steps for NPI.
Understands Lean planning and execution techniques.
