Global Strategic Sourcing & Category Management Lead
We now seek a Global Strategic Sourcing & Category Management Lead to develop and execute optimal Procurement & Sourcing strategies through the selection, development, and management of supplier relationships across a global category of commodity materials for the manufacture of high value MedTech finished products.
In this high visibility role, this hire will partner with internal global manufacturing sites, to all levels including site management, presenting projects, status, strategic planning, risk mitigation strategies, escalations, etc., and leadership of various suppliers within their category. This is a permanent role with requirements for presence on manufacturing sites some days per month and travel to other supplier sites, when needed.
As part of the Global Sourcing Team, this seasoned Procurement Expert will lead category management of a large budget and associated team, and high value supplier groups world-wide to meet overall supply requirements, contractual agreements, and driving sustainable cost reduction & service improvements globally.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned Procurement Professional that has led large scale negotiations and a proven track record in Supplier Relationship Management.
Responsibilities:
Develop, manage and execute measurement tools to accurately gauge supplier performance (quality, delivery, etc.).
Develop, manage and execute Annual Sourcing Business Plans that will reflect year-over-year cost reductions, quality enhancements and overall continuous improvement.
Project managing NPI, Process Improvements, Supplier selection (including; negotiation, contract review, etc.).
Drive performance on KPIs including; PPV, process improvement, cost reduction, capacity planning and lead-time.
Driving long term capacity & supply plans for assigned commodities.
Aligning Suppliers strategies with Plant & Corporate objectives and targets.
Drive the highest level of compliance, customer satisfaction at an optimum cost.
Providing mentoring and training focus for more junior team members.
Communicating via; data, metrics, reports, relationship building - both internally and externally.
Requirements:
Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Science, or relevant discipline. Preferably additional APICS qualification.
8+ years Procurement (Strategic Sourcing) and Supplier Relationship Management experience in a manufacturing environment.
Extensive knowledge in Market Research and Commodity Management (Metals, Plastics, Resin, Chemicals, Packaging) in any large scale manufacturing environment.
Proven experience of MRP systems, preferably SAP experience.
Proven MS Office skills, to generate; documents, spreadsheets, graphs, presentations, project schedules.
Strong analytical skills to aide quantitative decision making.
Proven understanding of legal agreements, contracts management, escalations, etc.
