Head of Manufacturing - Ireland

Due to continued expansion of their operations my client a well-established Multinational Healthcare Manufacturer now require a qualified and experienced Head of Manufacturing.

Reporting to the European Head of Operations, the purpose of this role is to work as the operations management lead in the client production plants and focus on key role deliverables to ensure sustainable ramps in production volumes without affecting quality standards.

This is a permanent role based in Dublin

Responsibilities of Head of Manufacturing - Ireland :

Lead and manage production (equipment preparation, manufacturing, filling & packing) and warehousing (material handling, dispensing & sampling) activities within the sterile and Non-Sterile plant in a ramp to maximum capacity environment, including providing technical and supervisory support to team members. Ensure effective decision making at all levels within the organisation. Develop the operations to ensure there is a highly engaged workforce and establish effective relationships with peers and support functions within the business.

Maintain and develop quality standards to cGMP guidelines; operations lead in regulatory and customer audits (HPRA audits, Sterility Assurance, Environmental Health & Safety) etc.

Drive changes in behaviours, process and practices that will improve efficiency, quality and customer service in line with the Company's CI programme. The Head of Manufacturing Ireland is expected to be a driver of CI change within their area of responsibility and will be a key influencer in developing a CI culture.

Maintain and develop quality standards to cGMP guidelines; participate in regulatory and customer audits (HPRA audits, Sterility Assurance, Environmental Health & Safety)

Facilitate training and development of all production, warehousing, dispensing and sampling personnel of the Sterile Plant, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to carry out their duties efficiently and safely and to cGMP standards

Control and oversee environmental compliance and waste handling, storage and disposal for the plant, ensuring its compliance with all regulations and in coordination with the DGSA

Requirements of Head of Manufacturing - Ireland

Bachelor's degree is required in life sciences or engineering disciplines
15 years of experience in a LEAN pharmaceutical/biotech industry with 5-10 years of relevant management experience with thorough knowledge and understanding of cGMP principles and Sterile manufacturing requirements.
Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the fields, concepts, practices, and procedures related to the pharmaceutical industry
Demonstrates strong business acumen and project management skills
Interacts with all levels of the organization in a professional and discrete manner
Ability to respond to tight timelines
Ability to deliver manufacturing volumes or remedy issues in order to achieve output, quality, cost, with a high emphasis on people, safety and continuous improvement
CI and or Lean Six Sigma training would be an advantage.
Formal people leadership training is a desirable
