Lean Engineer
Fast growing Medtech company based in Galway, now seek a Lean Engineer to identify and pursue value improvement and waste elimination to support manufacturing areas through the identification of opportunities initiation and completion of Lean projects in line with business goals and objectives.
The successful candidate will lead the ongoing introduction and advancement of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices across the plant / in direct area of responsibility.
This hire will be SME of technical support and where necessary project management support to Manufacturing teams in their endeavours to initiate and sustain Kaizen/ continuous improvement.
Responsibilities of Lean Engineer:
Mentor ‘Lean champions' and PB III's supporting lean initiatives.
SME support on existing Lean "tool kit", also refining and improving these tools and introducing new ones as appropriate.
Constantly promote, educate, and instil culture of identification and elimination of waste throughout the plant within manufacturing areas and also in support/ transactional area.
Lead lean Engineering tools & practices and using this knowledge and expertise to continually drive improvement in process/equipment design, layout and Operational performance.
Analyse and lead improvement opportunities and initiation of projects teams and plans to address, providing support & direction and facilitating the removal of barriers to ensure successful outcomes.
Generate and maintain data for managing our business e.g. method studies, time & motion studies, Work content graphs.
Maintain database of Lean projects with associated targets and metrics to be used in prioritization of key projects based on impact on VOP.
Ensure that Lean activities and projects are linked such that the entire value stream is addressed and maximum benefit is extracted from Lean activities.
Requirements of Lean Engineer:
Honours Degree (HETAC 8) in a relevant discipline.
3+ years of technical experience in related role in manufacturing environment.
Project management training and history of leading cross functional projects an advantage.
Experience is highly regulated medical or pharmaceutical manufacturing industry is desirable.
Excellent Computer literacy with experience of appropriate simulation and CAD packages an advantage.
Leadership skills and the ability to make effective decisions.
Excellent presentation and communication skills.
