Machine Build Senior Engineer
Required to Project Manage and develop new equipment and tooling projects driven towards process improvements in operations, while overseeing machinery design, fabrication, testing and all associated documentation. This is a permanent role based in Galway.

The successful candidate will take a lead role in the design of the equipment from concept to deployment, managing both internal (Automation, Manufacturing, Production, etc.) and external stakeholders (including Automation shops, Design houses, etc.) - nationally and internationally.

Additionally, this hire will work with our Digital Factory team supporting initiatives in line with Industry 4.0-Smart Factory strategies.

The ideal candidate will have a depth of machine build experience, from design through to deployment; and strong project management, cost management and people management (including contract staff) experience.

Responsibilities of Machine Build Senior Engineer:
Investigation of new technologies, generation of concepts and participation in Proof of Concept projects to enable automation and support Digital Factory initiatives.
Generation of equipment designs which meet manufacturing, safety, CE and performance requirements.
Designs include new tooling, fixtures, automated machines and modification/upgrades to same.
Providing technical leadership on equipment related product and process issues.
Ensure equipment solutions are delivered within planned schedules and within budget.
Actively participate in departmental and plant Continuous Improvement Projects as well as departmental standards etc.

Requirements for Machine Build Senior Engineer:
Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (level 8) or similar Engineering discipline.
5+ years’ Machine Design, Machine Build, Equipment Design, Equipment Engineering experience in a similar role in regulated industry.
Proven experience of AutoCAD/Solidworks, Automation and Pneumatics, Workshop Equipment, and Machine Design & Building will be essential.
Strong technical and project management capability.
Good communication skills combined with an imaginative and creative approach to problem solving.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
