Manager Corporate Development and Product Strategy Dublin pharma

Our client is an exciting, fast growing Dublin based clinical stage infectious disease pharmaceutical company led by a team with a track record of creation and delivery of pharmaceutical innovations and shareholder value. The newly created role of Corporate Development & Product Strategy Manager will assist the wider team in the identification, evaluation and integration of new Business Development opportunities and will have an opportunity to contribute to in-licensing, collaborations and out-licensing transactions.

Job Spec
The primary focus of the role will be to support the development of clinical and commercial strategies for their leading portfolio of products and platforms
  • Interpret research plans, preliminary data and development plans to assess opportunities that fit with company’s scientific, financial, and business objectives
  • Identify key market trends and provide an analysis of the competitive landscape for therapeutic and/or prophylactic modalities
  • Collaborates with internal and external partners in Finance, Legal and Research & Development to coordinate product development activities
  • Involvement in the development of the company’s Intellectual Property portfolio
  • Identify opportunities for grant funding and as required, the assembly of a consortium to pursue non-dilutive funding opportunities
  • Evaluation of regulatory pathways to product approval including the assessment of alignment to expeditated drug development programs in the US, the EU and elsewhere
  • Project management, including stakeholder management and engagement as well as the proactive identification & management of Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies towards a desired outcome
  • Representation of the company at industry events and conferences from time to time
  • Conduct gap analyses for pre-clinical and clinical development strategies
  • Preparation of presentation decks to distil complex scientific information into easily understood layman’s language

Person Spec
The role could apply to those with direct or related pharma industry experience, experienced Life Sciences consultants or those currently pursuing an MBA with pharma experience that are looking for an opportunity to diversify their career. It will suit any individual that is adaptable by nature and who possesses strong drive and work ethic.
  • BA/BS in a related area, PhD or M.Sc preferred (Life sciences, pharmacy, medicine, etc)
  • Experience in all aspects of business development, licensing, and M&A with a particular focus on leading, negotiating, and closing deals
  • 5+ years industry experience with documented success to include previous small company biotech and/or pharmaceutical and/or healthcare experience
  • Significant understanding of intellectual property protection and experience in oversight of patent applications, maintenance and protection.
  • Research Experience: Experience with qualitative and quantitative market research techniques is preferred
  • Business Acumen: A broad business understanding (particularly of the pharmaceutical/biotech industry) and the ability to coordinate cross-functionally is essential.
  • The ability to influence others in a tactful and well-thought-out manner with supporting information and logic.
  • Experience of preparing grant / non-dilutive funding applications.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Comfortable and flexible working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be open to national and international travel as and when the job requires
