New Product Development Project Manager
Our client, an innovative medtech company based in Galway, now seeks a Project Manager on a permanent basis to ensure all new products are delivered on-time and on-budget, in line with quality standards which meet customer requirements.

The successful candidate will support the commercial team on new product development projects to achieve business growth in line with company strategy.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a similar role within the medical devices industry and displays a positive can-do solution focused attitude.

Responsibilities of New Product Development Project Manager:
Work closely with the commercial team to develop innovative, quality solutions based on customer requirements that deliver a significant ROI for the business.
Plan and publish project budgets, control project costs within agreed budgets and deliver products within BOM targets.
Plan and track all projects to ensure on-time delivery, working with relevant functions / management to ensure timely resolution or escalation.
Monitor the proper conduct of projects in line with our Quality System, ensuring accountability.
Work with the NPD Director and Clinical team to ensure that clinical data is available for new product launches
Manage R&D Design Projects at a micro-level. Work with engineering functions to scope out a detailed design, development and test plans which support overall project targets / goals.
Manage the R&D design control milestones around design verification and validation, risk analysis and the risk management plan.
Ensure that the design control documentation is completed in concert with the project plan and company quality system.
Assist operations with the consolidation of documents and specifications required for RFQ, prototyping / engineering builds, process validation and production ramp / post launch support.
Maintain product and process quality, ensuring delivery of projects in line with the company Quality System.

Requirements for New Product Development Project Manager:
Honours Degree Engineering (e.g. Mechanical/Electronic/Software).
Strong Project Management skills, PMI certification an advantage.
5+ years Project Management experience within R&D / Product Development arena.
Ability to manage cross functional project teams to deliver projects on-time and within budget.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present to colleagues and management.
Proven ability to motivate cross functional teams with no reporting responsibility.
Proven business acumen in the context of product development.
Previous experience of risk management and in using risk management tools.
Excellent Microsoft Office skills particularly in Excel and PowerPoint and advanced Microsoft Project skills.
Knowledge of the Design Control Process (Medical Device Industry) would be advantageous.
Good analytical and decision making skills.
