Our client, a high tech manufacturing company based in Connacht, now seeks an Operations Director who will provide leadership onsite, ensuring operations goals and company KPIs are achieved within an FDA regulated cGMP manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will lead strategy, planning, and management of all aspects of operations on the manufacturing site, ensuring that cost, compliance and customer requirements are met.

The ideal candidate will be a proven Operations leader, possessing a people centred approach in their management style and a track record in developing a high performing team. High energy, ambition and proven ability to lead under pressure in deliver on KPIs, are fundamental to success.

Responsibilities of Operations Director:
Lead and manage operations and production related warehousing & logistics within the plant.
Liaise with Quality, Engineering, CAPEX, Logistics, Supply Chain and Manufacturing to ensure adherence to schedule and efficient troubleshooting.
Provide direction to operations team in order to ensure that the manufacturing and ancillary facilities can be operated to optimum efficiency and in compliance with Quality standards.
Manage and motivate the Operations team through effective communication to meet company goals and objectives, in accordance with GMP and relevant SOPs.
Develops direct reports through appropriate training, delegating challenging tasks and applying appropriate performance reviews.
Organize and lead, cross-functional and departmental OPEX, safety, quality, projects, etc. activities in an effort to improve efficiencies and effectiveness.
Actively participate in problem identification, problem solving and change initiatives in cooperation with other teams and services. Continuous improvement with a cross functional focus is a core activity.
Support operations team with achieving overall operational readiness schedule adherence.
Establish appropriate KPl's and manage non-conforming KPl's.
Manage New Product Implementation.
Co-ordinate QMS Management.
Schedule and capacity management.
Maintain and develop quality standards to cGMP guidelines; EH&S, operations lead in regulatory and customer audits.
Representing the company at client and regulatory facing meetings and audits.

Requirements for Operations Director:
Honours Bachelor’s Degree (level 8) in Science, Engineering, Business or similar technical discipline.
10+ years Operations Management experience, with proven track record in a regulated manufacturing / operations environment and working with EH&S legislation.
Proven leadership experience, in successfully developing self, others and function.
Strategic vision & execution, with associated business acumen.
OPEX, Lean and/or Continuous Improvement experience.
Track record in people motivation, organisation development and team building experience, ideally in start-up environment.
Proven relationship building & management experience, including effective stakeholder management expertise.
Experience in electronic quality management and document systems (EQMS, EDMS), manufacturing execution systems (MES). SAP an advantage.
Excellent project management skills. Project Management training / certification is a preferred.
Excellent communication and presentations skills, with leadership team and / or board.
Excellent analytical skills and problem solving skills.
