Job Description
Our client, an innovative and fast-growing healthcare company based in Dublin, now seeks an Principal Data Architect who will develop and lead the migration of R&D data to cloud platforms and data warehousing in AWS environment.
The successful candidate will lead planning, design and maintaining system integrations within an AWS environment as well as supporting the company’s data governance initiatives.
This hire will design and implement end to end data pipelines using Python, SQL and AWS technologies and translate functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture, data flows.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Data Architect, with a depth of expertise with data migrating and data warehousing to AWS technologies.
Responsibilities for Principal Data Architect, AWS:
Technical lead for cloud data integrations.
Collaborate with IT to design scalable infrastructure to support continued business growth and initiatives.
Create and maintain a detailed Enterprise Data Dictionary/Catalog.
Establish, maintain, technical and data standards and policies to ensure data integrity, security, and privacy.
Testing data flows for both quality and performance including processing large and complex datasets.
Documents all technical and system specifications documents for all data ingestion pipelines.
Requirements for Principal Data Architect, AWS:
BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent and relevant industry experience.
Proven experience in designing and building data platforms and pipelines from scratch.
Significant years of experience with Amazon Redshift, Lambda, EMR, S3, Glue and other AWS technologies.
Strong programming experience with Python, Java or C#.
Experience working with relational databases and knowledge of database design.
Proven track record as an ETL Architect, delivering successful system integrations with complex data sources.
Experience working in a regulated industry is plus.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Effective communication skills via verbal, written and presentation abilities.
Ability to influence and negotiate.
