R&D Controls Engineer
Our client, an innovative engineering group based in Galway, seeks a R&D Controls Engineer who will partake in the development of novel technology projects from equipment design through programming and development of prototypes to commercial launch enabling Medtech production.

The successful candidate will define control platforms and deliver software development for new equipment designs and equipment updates. Software development will include developing new PLC, HMI/SCADA, Database Code or portion of Code according to USRs. This person would be required to take a lead role in the design of manufacturing equipment from initialisation to final handover.

This hire will be experienced in working in similar role in a regulated manufacturing environment, with proven understanding of machine electrical & safety design, as per European Machinery Directive and derivate Standards.

Requirements for R&D Controls Engineer:
Honours Bachelors Engineer Degree equivalent to or above NFQ Level 8.
6+ years’ experience in a similar role.
Project Management Skills
Experience of PLC Programming for Machine Automation – RSLogix
Experience HMI/SCADA Design – Rockwell – Factorytalk View
PID Design and Tuning.
Servo Control.
Instrumentation.
Engages in day-to-day operations and is driven to solve problems.
Technical Writing skills.

Soft-skills required:
Must be a good team player and show ability and willingness to motivate and support other engineers.
Good multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
Ability to balance multiple projects.
