Our client, a medical devices manufacturer based in Galway, now seeks an R&D Engineer who will be responsible for the development of new medical device products, as part of the R&D team working in compliance to EU and FDA regulations.
The successful candidate will lead project team to design and develop new products and manage the project through the design cycle.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in working with Business Development and Physicians through the new product development process to commercial launch.
Responsibilities of R&D Engineer:
Ensure that the transition of products through R&D, product approval and manufacturing scale up are smooth, timely and cost effective.
Generate technical documentation for the Product Design History File and Device Master Records.
Develop test methods for product evaluation and validation. Develop and execute test method validations.
Lead development through validation of specific market requirements in given product segment.
Support manufacturing during early product commercialisation.
Requirements for of R&D Engineer:
Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering or equivalent Degree in a technical discipline.
2+ years of R&D Engineer experience in a Medical Device role.
Proven knowledge of design life cycles requirements.
Experienced analytical approach to problem solving.
Is creative, continually learning and exploring new ideas.
Experienced understanding and application of project management tools.
Strong interpersonal skills, a demonstrated ability to influence his/her peers.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
A self-starter applies his/her own initiative in most situations.
