Our client, a Medtech company based in Galway who a number of incredibly new innovative products coming through development, now seeks a suitably experienced Supply Chain Manager to work in a fast paced dynamic manufacturing site on a permanent basis.
Remit this role will interface with all process owners in the supply chain (end to end) to ensure that customer service requirements are met. Additionally, this role will line manage the materials function group, so the required candidate must have proven experience in leading & developing the procurement and planning team.
The successful candidate will coach, lead and enhance the productivity of the team reporting to role within the department. Proven ability in coaching, developing and leading teams, while enhancing the productivity of their team within the department. This hire must champion process improvement in planning tools and systems.
The ideal candidates will be a specialist in the area of production planning and procurement, with an excellent knowledge of customer/market requirements and manufacturing plant capacity.
Responsibilities of Supply Chain Manager:
Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance Support the Management & Leadership team in the preparation of adhoc summary analysis reports & presentations.
Procuring raw materials, components & production supplies to ensure a 100% customer service level, whilst achieving the targeted KPIs.
Work with Global Supply Chain to validate the customer requirements signal.
Partner with production to develop a Production plan that meets customer service requirements while maintaining minimum inventory and optimal manufacturing cost.
Lead process improvements to ensure inventory is optimized.
Project managing NPI and continuous improvement initiatives.
Manage material supply to ensure manufacturing demands & targets are achieved.
Providing timely and appropriate Material availability information to internal customers.
Develop a culture of compliance to GMP procedures, with strong focus on risk assessment & elimination.
Driving both the long term and short term capacity plans for manufacturing line.
Requirements of Supply Chain Manager:
Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering, Business or similar. APICS certification desirable.
5+ year’s relevant experience in a materials planning / production planning environment.
3+ years people management / supervisory experience, ideally within Supply Chain function.
Proven experience of MRP systems, SAP experience is highly desired.
Proficient user in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint with strong working knowledge of MS Word.
Excellent analytical, problem solving & communication skills.
Proven manufacturing experience needed to manage production planning process steps for NPI.
Understands Lean planning and execution techniques.
