Job Description
Our client, a Medtech company, now seeks a Toxicologist who will work in a desk-based role, as part of biocompatibility and toxicology teams for biocompatibility and toxicology programs, their processes and ensuring compliance. As an SME, you will advise on procedures, techniques, concepts and approaches used at divisional levels for biocompatibility and toxicology programs.
The successful candidate provide input on biocompatibility, chemistry, and toxicology testing related to new investigational and strategic development programs during Technology and Product development programs.
Additionally, this hire will have responsibility for conducting biological evaluations, chemical characterization, and toxicological risk assessments providing supporting for new product development, regulatory submissions and manufacturing for Global Preclinical development programs.
Internally the Toxicologist will lead communications with internal customers on biocompatibility and toxicology issues and supports problem solving and resolution related to biocompatibility assessments, chemical characterization, and toxicological risk assessments.
Note: This hire will initially work remotely with a view to work 50% on site in the coming months.
Requirements of Toxicologist:
Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Toxicology, Biomedical, Chemistry, Microbiology or equivalent.
5+ years’ experience in science-based role in industry with experience of toxicology and safety assessment.
Experienced in approval of toxicology/biocompatibility documentation.
Experienced in conducting literature searches on chemical toxicity data, review of health hazard data and writing risk assessment is desirable, with good technical writing skills.
Strong Technical writing/ documentation skills.
Project Management experience.
Good interpersonal and effective communication skills.
EU MDR or similar exposure would be highly desired.
