Job Description
Our client, a multinational medical devices manufacturer based in Galway, now seeks a Vendor Materials Engineer to project manage all technical / engineering aspects of supplier selection, supplier process & material changes and technical support for all polymer or plastic purchased commodities.
This role resides within the Materials Engineering Team and is responsible for providing technical / engineering leadership within supply chain, driving improvement projects including: risk mitigation, resolution of non-conformances and achieving year-on-year material cost reduction targets.
This is a permanent people facing role, requiring a candidate with technical / engineering qualifications, polymers expertise and strong interpersonal skills.
Requirements for Vendor Materials Engineer:
Honours Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering or similar technical qualification. Ideally Plastics or Polymers qualification.
5+ years relevant work experience in material analysis, development of new supply sources.
Project Management skills to manage Supplier and Material changes.
Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification is desired.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Lean working knowledge is desired.
